Yes, if you don't have an internet connection, it appears that Sway is hosed. I do not recall any mention of "offline" viewing of sways. So, if offline viewing is a requirement, that appears to be a deal breaker.

If you click through you will see it is the viewer last updated in As for Sway, being a web-only app may mean that it is architected not to have to load the entire presentation in the way PPT does but again, it doesn't matter in this case as it doesn't do anything for the large presentations we already have and if we were to go off PPT for converting or creating new it wouldn't be to Sway as the options as you note are limited.
Oops, sorry. I should have followed that first link through instead of 'trusting' them. Turns out the 2 links lead to the same place, a viewer. My Avast! It complains about an "invalid certificate" if my browser even thinks about going to uservoice. I've seen my computer complain about certificates before, but this is the first time it has totally blocked a domain due to certificate issues. So, uservoice is sanctioned by windowscentral.
